Saw an advertisement on g-mail for sending out bulk e-mails with 99% arrival *facepalm* Just what we need.

My computer is running soooo slow! It started when I shut down and restarted a few days ago. I got like 5 webpages that said welcome to Firefox! and Welcome to ____ for all of my add ons. So I lost all of my add on data (and Firefox refuses to remember what I change my settings back to). I did get to keep all of my bookmarks for some reason.
I am running a disk defrag/disk clean up on it now to see if that helps things.

And for ever I have had a problem with it connecting to the internet after I closed it. I would have to shut down Windows Explorer and Firefox, then restart them both, THEN I could get the internet to work. Though sometimes it would refuse to load a webpage and I would have to restart completely once that happened. Any idea why?

So, I am thinking about getting a new one, just because I would like to have one before this one gives up the ghost and I lose everything on it. Anyone have any recs for good laptops? I am thinking about a Dell again, which the total would be about 900 bucks for all the settings I want. But yesterday I was looking at Toshiba laptops and I could get almost the same settings for about 700 bucks. Suggestions?

I haven't checked LJ in three days. Oops! Been putting my free time into NaNo and college classes.

With one day left on NaNo, I think I might make it. I have about 5k left to do and my novel took a huge turn on me that means I will eventually have to rewrite a good portion of it. I think I have to kill off one of my favorite characters. *clings to said character*

My cell phone rang and woke me up after I'd only had about 3 hours sleep - Forgot to put it back on silent. Stumbled/fell out of bed when I had a message. It was some message by this lady with an annoying voice that said: "There seems to be something strange about your message. I don't know what's going on with it, but you might want to check it out." Then proceeded to gossip about some shootings (I think the ones that happened to some cops here in Washington.)
My voice message says something like "Hey, you've reached AMY'S phone. If you want, leave me a message." Actually, my message is a lot ruder than that (I had been annoyed by getting a series of wrong calls and messages when I first got my phone). I wonder if the person had even given it any thought that the reason why the message sounded weird was because she had gotten. the. wrong. number? Oi.

Update time

Okay, I have been really bad about updating lately. I would normally say because it is hiatus time, but it seems I have been more busy watching shows than I do during the fall. When did that happen? Either way, I blame/thank [livejournal.com profile] michelleann68

Uugh, it's a wonder I still remember how to do html!

Anyway, here are a few updates I have been putting off:

Jury Duty )

Portland trip 2 )
I actually wrote a fic :D (I wrote this and the last entry in the left over steam of fic writing). It is a SPN RPS one. Only my second in that fandom. Seems I can only write them (or anything lately) if I do it in one sitting. I need to read it several more times to make sure it isn't crap before I post it. My normal betas - one isn't in the fandom, and the other hates death fics (yes, I was mean to one of them *evil cackle*) So expect that up in a day or two...less than 1k words.

Babble

Guess this is an 'Odds and Ends' post...a bit of everything. Maybe. We will see how far I get.

So, today. I normally like Mondays because it is my one day off where I don't go into town unless I want to and I like having a day to laze about. Mom ends up having me take pictures of the house and surrounding property (we need to list it to see how much money we can get *sigh*), then had me take more pics because a couple of the angles were wrong. So, 20 pictures later, done. It is a gorgeous day, so got some nice blue sky and a few little clouds in the background. Got the mail (2 books from paperbackswap :D :D) and then settled back in front of Pea. Then Mom wants me to water the front plants. Oi

I get settled back down and Mom is pacing around and decides to make cookies (aka, she does the dough and I cook them up). Dad calls and offers to bring us food, so I wait on doing the cookies until then. So about 3pm, I start in on the cookies and set up camp with Pea and a camera (trying to get pics of the canaries outside at the feeder.

I've been trying to write a bit on an old House story that has been slow going and getting interrupted every 12 minutes doesn't help. After those are all made (about 2 hours later) Mom calls me back from my escape to make her coffee. Then do the dishes. Then set the table. Then help her with hanging a plant up. Then nags me for being grumpy (nagging at me only make it worse).

Now it is almost 5 and the only things I have accomplished is one burned disk, one movie I downloaded, 4 pages of my book read, and 3 little paragraphs typed.

So what do I do next? LJ entry!

Done with the rant part. Now for some other stuff (because a rant does not a babble make--or something like that)

Don't think I have mentioned watching Brothers and Sisters, but I really love it. Kevin proposed to Scotty (and Mom gagged and groaned through the scene, which was a mood killer *sigh*), and I watched it again on YT *sob*

Watch the proposal here!! )

...I almost forgot how to do a cut. A sure sign I need to post more!

Also, during my last trip to Seattle, I went to see a play with Michelle. It was called White White Black Stork. Was the first one I have seen in another language and I kept forgetting to read what was on the screen at some points because I was too busy watching the action on the screen. It was reviewed as a Romeo and Juliet story, which wasn't really fair. Prob just because of the 'tragic love story' part of it. The first bit was hilarious and I was enjoying it, but when all the drama started happening, it started to drag and I just was waiting to see who would end up dying at the end.

First few minutes of this has some clips of the play )

What else...what else....
HOUSE TONIGHT!!!! YAY!!!

Okay, this is getting a bit long. Sorry for clogging the flist ^_^
evila_elf: (Default)
...or it seems that way. I'm still here, reading House fanfics like a mad person...I like to stay caught up lol

Lotta randomness up ahead:

Been snowing quite a bit, snow is still here. Driving is fun when you can't see the road *sigh* One of the first snow days, Dad didn't want me driving to work because of ice and stuff. Funny, but the roads were pretty much clear in town. I was feeling lazy, so I let him drive me in.
Well, turns out, after he dropped me off, he went to store. When he go back into car (mine) it would not start. He had to have it towed. It looked to be a problem with the fuel pump not wanting to work...the guy said he was able to get it semi-working again by tapping on it, but recommended getting a new one. Parts and labor=over 700 bucks *sobs* So I am pretty much broke now. Funny that it was the one day that I didn't drive myself to work. I would have flipping panicked if the car refused to star on me!

Moving on. Was a library staff meeting last Saturday. Not much that involved me and my lowly position, but they did talk a bit about the new library that we are going to get. In case you don't know...as soon as we get the funding, our library is getting torn down and a new one built in its place. Estimated time=8months to a year. Once we get 95% of the money needed, we will move everything to the building across the street's basement...a community building of some sort, can't remember. But on Wednesdays we can't have children programms because of some court stuff going on. Fuun. And we don't even know if all of us will have a job there for that time. Some of us might have to work at another library to get our hours in. Going to be much smaller while we wait on construction, so might not need all of us. And there are only 6 of us. Only 2 shelvers, so I hope I can stay. I love working over at Centralia on Sundays, but the staff are mostly subs, so that makes it fun. It gets so hectic there other times.
We are hoping to get the building started during the good weather. *deep breath* I am the type who will flip out if not involved in the moving process...I need to know where everything is at. If books just tossed in random boxes, I will flip.

Looking forward to the Tritter-free House episodes. As much as I didn't mind Tritter, he wore out his welcome...just wish he could have gone out with a bang rather than a pop.

Watched a series called Black Books. Well, the first series--6 episodes. Quite funny. Has Bill Bailey in it, who I enjoyed from his few eps on QI.

24 is sure off to a great start! Wow! That bit where the guy was kicked from subway was awesome! (Keeping details down so not to spoil much lol.) Looking forward to the return of Prison Break! American Idol makes me question my sanity for enjoying it so much. The brother and sister who made it...I am rooting for those two.

I managed to burn my knuckle pretty bad. On the metal thingy under the dishwasher. Was trying to retrieve a spoon...forgot it was hot under there. Doesn't really hurt too bad unless I bend finger bad or rub it against something. Skin is cracked and a little infected. It hurts more like a cut rather than a burn, which I am thankful for. I also got a very nasty paper cut between my first finger and thumb. So when ever I grab something, it automatically brushes against it. I find that more painful than that burn.

I went to see Rocky Balboa on Monday. It was much better than I expected. A couple years ago I was a huge fan of the firs tcouple movies. I did hate all the backstory and flashbacks, and I don't think it said what happened to Adrian. Sure showed enough flashbacks of her. Also the callbak to the meat punching *sigh* It didn't even make sense to keep it in since Paulie was no longer working at that place. Then when they showed the flashback of that scene when he was fighting at the end? OMG rediculois! And they said he couldn't do running training because of his knees...not more than 5 minutes later he was running. Movie not the same without it, but did get a errr?? moment. Enjoyable at least :)

I think that is about all...so I will leave you all with a meme (I'm kind lol)

Well...'ello all ^.^

I'm back...not that I have been anywhere to return from.

Just going to jabber about things and see where I take myself and you poor readers.

The interview thingy a few weeks ago that I think I failed to mention about went fine. There were 2 other people interviewed as well. Both guys, which surprised me. About 90% of all library workers are female, according to what I see at all staff day (which is October 8th this year). We were basically asked stuff about our job. We all stressed at how annoying it was to not get computer training until we move from Page to Aide. I wonder if anything will come of it. Well, all of us were quite shy--including the whole 'wait for someone else to aske question first.' One of the guys worked right there at the Service Center, and had for several months. The other worked in Olympia for...6 months or something like that. They were real nice.
Moving along...

The last episode of House was my favorite by far this season, and most of last season, yet I have only seen it once and not typed up a review. As for my internet time, it seems like I am swamped when I get on here, and not enough time to do everything in. Like right now. I have about an hour until I am supposed to be in bed, but I can stretch that for another half hour, yet still that isn't enough time to do things in.

The AD/RSL RPS fic series I have been cowriting is a blast and takes priority over everything else I have going. Sometimes I get so focussed that I only leave myself a few hours for my flist. Then someone posts an epic story that I have to read and I am up until 4 and Mom is pissed and wants to take away my computer *facepalm*

Speaking of writing, I have decided to try NaNoWriMo this year! 2 years ago, I heard a bit about it, but not enough to realize quite what it was. Then last year things clicked a bit, but I didn't even consider trying it.
So. This will either be tons of fun, or Hell. I do have a backup story idea in case the first one demands to be shot. Dunno if I will post any of it here unless I am terribly proud of it. It will be an original, so I doubt many of you would really be that interested.
November will be interesting. The NaNo, posting a new RPS fic every other day, keeping up on flist, some betaing, RL, IM conversation(s).

*thinks* I know there was more I wanted to say about...something.

Prison Break==*Sob*

No new House for awhile==*Sob*

I have another song post to do before my links expire. That will take awhile...Hope I can get to it tonight ^.^

How does this update thingy work again? *poke poke*

I'm a horrible updater! Now that my flist consists of less than 100 entries (a blessing and a curse--fewer fics to read), I actually have time for *gasp* other stuffs! Like updating! Not that I have too much of that to do, but whatever :)

Let's see where this update takes me...

A couple nights ago, I ended up staying on the computer until 5am. Let's just say I got a bit carried away with research (one of you out there knows what I mean) and...yeah. So I ran around (quietly) to get ready for bed before one of the parents noticed I was up. It was light outside and the birds were chirping. Unlike several of your out there (:P), it doesn't bother me in the least. I like the sounds of birdies :D
But a combonation of the frantic jump-into-bed-fall-asleep, the fact that 6/6/6 was over with, and the TB Magician's Nephew (Read by Kenneth Branagh--very wonderful) that I had been listening to gave me a terrible nightmare. Don't remember much about it except things were randomly exploding/becoming non-existant. Very freaky. And the nothing was pure black.
I had heard somewhere...isn't it true that when you are dreaming, you can't think 'this is so wierd, it must be a dream'? Well, during the dream, I had that thought, then completely freaked out because that, by what I remember being told, that meant the dream was real. I woke up a couple hours after I fell asleep with a bad case of the frights and shivers. Fuuunn *grumble*
Woke up again an hour later--around 8--and stretched. Big mistake. I had tried to get into the habit of no-big-stretches in the mornings. Why? Fucking leg cramp! 2 days later, my leg still feels like it had been punched hard.

*Throws balloons in celebration of the completion of the fluff list*

1000+ fluffs at last!

Ah, it is the time of year for graduation again (grats to all the grads out there!)
So, tomorrow (aka friday) I am heading over to my HS to practice playing the band songs. I was planning on going to graduation on Saturday, and figure I might as well make myself useful and play along. I have played all the songs before (need to refresh my memory and learn which parts I need to pretend to play, hehe). I need to be at the school at 1:30 tomorrow (damn, I hope I have the right time). I took an hour vacation from work to do it, too. (I have 58 vacation hours, and it maxes at 60. Might as well use them).
I am getting all nervous thinking about it :( I love playing in band, but I hate socializing with people, or people doing the 'who are you?' thing. Last year was the first year I hadn't been to graduation since 7th grade--10 years ago o.0 Scary how time flys! I've been playing flute for over 10 years!

Damn, my thoughts are all over the place, hehe. I start with one topic, and cram like 3 in one paragraph.

Back to graduation. The last friend I have in school is graduating. She is giving a farewell speech. I wish I got to talk to her more. She has no internet at home, only though the school, and then we only talk to schedule time for band practice/games. She swung by the library one to drop off some music with me, and we talked for like a half hour, despite the fact I was supposed to be working. And we were in a spot where everyone could hear us, too *cringes* I like private conversations. So, not able to talk of slash at all. I printed off a few pieces to give her tomorrow.
Uh, back to original thought of that paragraph...since she is graduating, the last person in band that I talk to is Amy, and she will be in 8th grade I think (shit I feel old). Anyways, this last year, she has turned into one of those little fashion nuts. Into style, clothing, makeup. *gag* So I don't think I will be talking to her much. So, next year if I go to games, I will be pretty much sitting by myself. There are a few people who I joked with, but I think most are graduating as well.
Guess I could go for a few games, if only to have people ask me what grade I am in. Yeah, most don't believe me that I have graduated.

Fandom related--hmmmm, maybe I should put this first, so people will actually read it...oh well lol, bolding will have to do.
I completed one of the 2 birthday fics I have been trying to work on. 2 people on my flist have the same BD as me (25th), so I wanted to write up a little something for them. Quite pleased with the first result--Wilson strips for House. So expect that and (hopefully) the other if it behaves itself to appear around the 25th of this month.

I soooo need a new computer. Got the go-ahead from Mom to get a new one (I bitch so much about this one that she finally got the hint). I think I will wait until the end of this month. One thing that troubles me, is my printer. I think I lost the install disk that came with it, so I don't know if I will be able to get it to work for the new one?

I mentioned somewhere ^up^ ^there^ that I was listening to The Magician's Nephew on talking book. I got a set from the library that has all the Narnia books. Each book is read by a different person. Kenneth Branagh is awesome. I wish he did more talking books, really a joy to listen to.
*wonders why she is babbling for 45 minutes when can be listening to talking book*

I guess I will wrap this up with a bye, bye :)

I have been soooo bad about updating lately!

Big thanks and huggles to [livejournal.com profile] allybally123. Got the movies back, and I don't think those Kisses will last long around here! They already seem to have vanished. I need to go hunt them back down!

I've been sick since Tuesday. Started out with a sore throat, which faded to a plugged up nose. Everyone over here is sick. I've been able to stay up later than normal because Mom's ears are plugged and she can't hear me when I finally get my butt to bed, hehe :D So it does have it's advantages.

I had a dream last night. I was partway through breakfast when I remembered it.
The Whose Line cast were kissing each other. First someone, I think it was Brad, kissed Drew. My response in the dream "What a waste of a kiss!" Then he went over and kissed Greg. Tongues were involved...then I woke up *grumbles*

It feels like, lately, I have been spending most of my online time reading the H/W fics and my flist (even if I don't reply, I am reading!) and things have finally started to slow down--the fanfiction part at least.

Work has been slow for the last couple of weeks (until this Friday), and I started busying myself with repairing TB and CD cases--AKA putting the items in new ones. The CD cases are a pain in the ass. I need to scrape off the label on the spine-carefully so I can reuse it-pry off the back to get to the paper there (the one that has the track listings) and put it in the new one. Snap the back back on, reattach the label, put a new Timberland Library sticker on it and the name of our library...They are great little time wasters at least.

I've been writing quite a bit, but, naturally, not finishing anything. I think I have a few drabbles lurking about.
I signed up for some fic exchange, and I am worried that I won't be able to come up with an idea for the challenge I am given.
I've been tossing my drabbles up on fanfiction.net and am surprised that some of the reviews have more than 5 words in them.

There hasn't really been much more than that going on here... Ki is lounging on me now, so typing is difficult lol.

Damn, still rich text mode.

Got a bunch of stuff to babble about :-)

Sorry about no new clips of RSL reading 'Applewhites.' YSI is being a pain and I can't get anything uploaded.
Also I need to type up a review of the House finale..

On my last Sunday until the fall (couple weeks ago), I was poking though a book. I have a habit of randomly grabbing books off shelves--quite often I end up grabbing something that is damaged or has papers stuffed in them. Anyways, the book I grabbed was called 'That Book of Perfectly Useless Information' I was flipping though the beginning of it where there were tons of quotes from celebrities about various subjects. I Got to page 6, skimming along quote about fathers when this caught my eye:
Hugh Laurie:
"I looked up to my father too much to really open up my heart to him. We were almost formal. I did not tell him I loved him. All I can do is hope he would have known."
No idea if that has been put up anywhere, but I love the quote! And, it is probably the only time Hugh is mentioned in the book, and I turn practically right to it! (No celeb. index in the back to check)

Last week I went though a phase of going to bed at about 5 am. So wierd to go to bed as it was getting light and the birds were chirping!! If I could get up whenever I wanted to, I would love to be able to go to bed at that time every night!
But, I got in trouble 2 days ago and now have a 2am curfew *grumbles*

I had an odd RSL dream several nights ago.
I was doing something on a computer for a TV station. I think I was supposed to be feeding actors interview lines or something. RSL was the actor and I somehow managed to screw up, so the interview ended early. My thought: "The fan are going to kill me!!!" *panic*
I think RSL felt sorry for me because he gave me a little hug, hehe. Not much, but I will take what I can get!!

Been raining the last few days, so I don't have to water any of Mom's damn plants! *happy dance*
She had been saying that she was going to cut down on plants when we were moving...now she has more than ever!
And my plum tree has one plum on it this year. It looks so lonely lol

Gotta leave for work in a half hour or so. 20 minutes earlier than I need to leave, but I like to get there early so I can read or write in the staff room. I can always read and write here, but it is fun to write in a different setting...and to try to keep the smut hidden as coworkers wander by!

Coulda swore I had more to say....
...oh well...I can always make another post :-)

My name is Amy, and this has been the longest day of my life

*cough*

Rewind to earlier today. Kitchen. Flour and dough, everywhere. Well, not everywhere, but damn close!
Tip: When making dough, don't be stupid like me and add an extra cup of water!
I used the breadmachine to make some dough for dinner rolls. I had to stop the damn thing 30 minutes early because it was oozing dough everywhere. Was afraid I would run out of flour as I tried to get it so it would stop sticking to me!!
After I finally got the dough into rolls and raising in the oven, I took a break to hop on the computer. I was || close to going insane at the mess. (fortunately, both parents were gone at the time)
I sent an e-mail to [livejournal.com profile] michelleann68 about the attacking dough, and she wrote me a little drabble that had me giggling and gave me some added strength to go tackle the mess. Here's the H/W drabble she wrote me: http://michelleann68.livejournal.com/39067.html

I had the dough raise for almost an hour and bake for about 40 minutes. It took me all that time to clean off the cutting board that I used, to scrape out the breadpan, and wip away all the dough from inside the machine, by the heating element. I could have made 3 or 4 more rolls with all the dough I tracked down.

And after all that...guess what? They tasted decent! Bit dry, but not bad! Mom and Dad were leery of eating them, but they enjoyed them as well, hehe :)

Now, I want to do it again, if only to think 'OMG! This is easy when done right!!'

My arms are sore. I was shooting my BB gun with Dad earlier and I have the hardest time cocking it (whoever laughs at that owes me a drabble! :P). I'm a decent shot with it, but I miss my old one even though the sites were screwy and I had to aim down and to the right of my targets. Got so use to shooting that way. Hard to actually 'aim' at the target now lol.

After today, I was starting to wish I had been scheduled to work 5 hours. At least I would get 50 bucks out of it and be spared--*points in general direction of kitchen*

Headaches suck!
Had one that had been building since work. Got so bad that I turned on my electric blanket and laid down for awhile. I was tempted to just got to bed...but it would have been 5 hours earlier than I normally do. Which would mean that I would just wake up at 5 or 6 in the morning.
Mom came in a bit before she went to bed and covered me with a blanket. By that time the headache was almost gone, but I was too comfy, so I laid there for an extra half hour and fantasized about a H/W scene I was having a hard time putting to paper. I can visualize it real good, but the words are failing me.

Guess I can babble a bit...

A few weeks ago, we ate out at a restaurant for sign class. Where we weren't allowed to talk (like that really happened lol). I don't think I mentioned it, but it was a lot of fun. We were able to talk/sign decently. Lotta laughing.
Eventually I got bored and started playing with a dime I had in my pocket...flicking it on the table so it would spin around. I did that several times...once it got away from me and made a complete loop around my pop, like a U turn. My reaction: WTF cool!! (mental only) So I spent 20 minutes trying to get it to do that again, half the time sucessful. I looked up and realized I had an audience lol. I had a strange mental image that it might be something House would do to amuse himself ;)
So...yeah.

Any one interested in a dogtag? I wanted one from this library order thing, and had to buy them by the dozen. They say "Creature of Habit" on them. Not real heavy duty, but I don't have any other to compare to. The chain is beaded and actually quite pretty. I have about a half dozen to spare--1 per asker free and free shipping, don't matter if outside US.
Any takers?

*points at icon and smiles* :)

Ick...been meaning to babble a bit here for awhile, but I haven't really felt like anything other than the fan squees and such. I had just noticed that 8 of my past 10 posts have been TB sound clips lol
So, this will be very randoM.

Saw V for Vendetta last Sunday, so the alone trip to the theater was a success. Not many people there. I chatted for a second with the 'food people' to see what they thought. They said they liked it and that the only people who hadn't were ones that had a hard time following the story line.
I couldn't resist the popcorn, so I bought a small sized and took a seat off to the right set of seats. Considering how few people there were, I should have sat in the middle, but, well...I ALWAYS sit to the right.
Moving right along, ha ha, I loved the movie! Much less violence than I thought there would be, and not as dark. V in an apron had me giggling for a bit. Stephen Fry was awesome while he lasted, and that show he did had me in stitches! Too few people in the theater to tell if anyone else was as amused as I was, unfortunately. Gave me flashes back to "A Bit of Fry and Laurie"
Still was a wise choice to 'go solo' to it, since I doubt that either parent would approve. I might have to rent it when it comes out to give them the hour version of it.
I'm not one of the people who should drive after watching a movie at the theater. I think I get into it a little bit and feel real detached. I hardly remember the drive home and am really surprised I made it back lol

I've had a few odd dreams in the past week. In one, I was looking in the bathroom mirror and I seemed to have grown a partial beard a la House. I was trying to decide if it was real noticible. Felt wierd touching it--in a very real way. Another dream--I dreamed that Hugh was performing on a duet version of American Idol. I thought he sounded so so, but Simon loved it. Said something about that numerous contestants have performed it over the years, but 'this was the first realistic version we have had yet' So, yeah lol.

A sentence in my Entertainment Weekly mag in the What to watch section:
House:
Wilson's still living with House, because oncologists can't afford hotels.

I'm hoping this means that they will still be living together by the end of the episode :D :D :D :D

Today at Wallyworld, I bought Switchfoot, the early years 1997-2000 3 CD set! Has 3 of their first albums, 32 songs :D Was only 14 bucks yay!

Wednesday at the library was Hell. There was so much shelving to do! I did 2 and a half hours worth of shelving from my cart in an hour, then spent my next hour shelving downstairs. Corine, by boss, was over shelving audio books, and I shelved all the new books while she was over there. She was a bit surprised when she came back, hehe. I think she was tempted to tell me to shelve accurately as well as fast, but she didn't. I think after over 2 years she has learned not to bug me when I am in 'speedy mode.' About ready to collapse when I got home, then had to listen to Mom grouch at me that 2 hours of working is nothing compared to what she use to do. *sigh*

Hmm...staring blankly at the screen should be a clue that I have run out of things to babble about.

I am way too amused atm. Allow me to babble a bit and see if that explains anything:

My Dad's old girlfriend, I think from HS or something, has been needing his help this past year. Her parents are selling their land and stuff and keep running into problems. Dad is kinda in the logging/self-employment business, so he knows all about that good stuff. Girl's name is Lorna and she is married.
For some reason, it pisses my mom off so much that Lorna keeps calling here and asking Dad for help. I type up e-mails for Dad quite often as they talk about 'what to do, what to do' stuffs. We have just stopped telling Mom because she completely freaks out. She says that she trusts Dad and everything, but she is annoyed at 'this woman' mooching favors off of him, etc. Lorna is a little batty, but she is fun to talk to. She has come into the library on several occassions to leave little packages with me to give to Dad.
Anywho, today, Dad spent an hour talking to her on the phone. What followed was a half hour rant from Mom. I muted the TV to listen. It is just so comical! Mom was threatening to tell Lorna to stop calling the next time she happened to pick up the phone!
I went into the kitchen to fix myself something to eat (AKA listen better), and I got in trouble for laughing :P
I just can't believe whatever logic she is using...makes absolutely no sense why she hates Lorna so much other than for jealousy--which she denys.

kk, other news...
Went to Wally World and bought a new CD--James Blunt's Back to Bedlam, a TV guide that has a nice 2 page spread of close-ups from House's appartment (I see two guitars on the wall, a banjo by the bed, and 2 horns laying atop a bookcase--makes me waaayy to happy), and I bought some metalic blue/teal finger nail polish :) Bye, bye 20 bucks.

Went to the feed store to get some dog treats with Dad. I went into the back room to look at the chicks (I miss raising them so much :( ) And there was a baby turkey on the floor. I walked over to it and picked it up. The only time the little buggers are cute is when they are little. I held it up towards an employee "Um...were you aware one of your Turkeys was out?"
He babbled about some stuff as he put it back, then another fell out while he was doing that. They are kept like 5 feet in the air. V. stupid birds. He made a grab for it..the whole standing still an pouncing method. No, doesn't work too well. I had to retrieve that one as well for him lol. At least he was gentle with them...well, aside from the whole missing-to-catch-thing with the second bird.
So. Yeah.

Oh! [livejournal.com profile] nutmeg4077 I got the talking book back yesterday. It was so wierd! As I was walking out to get the mail, I was thinking about e-mailing you to see if it had been sent yet. Quite scary, actually, to find it in the mailbox :) Thank you :D

Don't you just hate it when there is an old lady nearby who just stands there and frowns like she is mad at the world? *shiver* There was one at work today...her daughter and I guess granddaughter were in looking at books. I gave her a wide space as I was walking past...except for the time when he hovered in front of the door. I mumbled an 'excuse me' as I got close. Lady: *glare, then stepped to the side*
So busy at work these past few days! People everywhere. Despite all that, I haven't been asked as many questions as I normally am. It is annoying to hear the patrons whisper about needing help and wanting to go down stairs to as the question. Makes me wonder if I am invisible *le sigh*
I also dislike parents who let their kids leave stuff all over the floor. Had to kick several books from my path as I carried a heavy box past. I think I kicked them a little too hard to the side of the room, but the lady did appologize.
Tuesday, someone donated 4 huge boxes of books! Most were fantasy and general fiction. I loaded them up into plastic courier boxes so I could lift them and had to make 7 trips upstairs, then another when someone else donated another box's worth. Took me an hour to sort them in the for-sale-room, and a half an hour before that to get them into the boxes because my boss was making sure I put them in the right boxes. and I started 15 minutes early. Out of all those books, I only bought 4--2 bucks worth. I might have bought more if I wasn't so sick of looking at them. Normally I look over the backs--but it would have taken too long to do that with a couple hundred books!
Today, some guy came in and bought 20 bucks worth of the fantasy books! (40 books total)

Didn't get much sleep yesterday. I went to bed at 4:30 because I wasn't paying attention to the time. When it gets that late, I tend to move really slow and stare off into space a lot :-/ I was woken up at 8 by the dog gagging. Turns out that she was trying to eat out of the litterbox! -.- I yelled and threw a pillow at her. Shoulda gotten out of bed and kicked her ass, then shut her out of my room, but I didn't want to get up. I don't remember falling back asleep, but I must of, because I had a v. interesting dream:

It was an OC dream :D
I remember hearing reviews of the newest House being the slashiest, etc. Well, turns out that this OC episode (in my dream) was supposed to be the slashiest ever. Details don't make sense, but there was water and waves (I blame Michelle for some of that) and slashing and laughing with Seth/Ryan. I was so happy because Ryan had such a huge smile on his face! I think there was also some hugging and invasion of personal space.
Another small dream that wasn't too interesting....just some of me driving around downtown and it was deserted except for this creepy guy. I think that was due to the fact that I was scoping out the theater parking last night.
An extra hour of sleep would have been good, but I don't think I would mind being woken up early if I can go back to sleep and have some nice dreams :D Seems like the only ones I can remember happen when I wake and fall back asleep..the second dream happened when Mom woke me up and told me to get out of bed, but I fell back asleep. Scared the crap out of me when she came back into my room yelling at me "Why haven't you gotten out of bed yet???"

What else to tell, what else to tell...

For the first time since House took the latest 2 weeks off, it seems like the newest episode is just around the corner!!

I'm growing out my fingernails and not chewing them off. I need to pick up some fingernail polish. Been ages since I have wanted to paint my nails. I am thinking bright red...any other ideas? (anything but pink!!)

Was talking with Lew at work and he was saying how the power went out a few weeks ago at around 11 in the morning just as he was plugging in his coffee pot for his first cup of coffee for the day. He put on his robe and padded next door in his slippers to the little diner to bum a cup of coffee because theirs would still be warm. he is so hilarious!! He said his robe was all ratty and his slippers are almost 20 years old. The diner people were so amused that they refused to let him pay for it
Lew, to paint a picture: grey hair, tall and fairly slim. 50/60-ish years old. Wears an old jean jacket that he has been meaning to replace for several years now--He always hangs it on a hook over the door, when he is working. He is a subsitute, so I don't see him too often. Met him when I started doing Sundays and he has been filling in a lot at my library because Trish hurt her back. He takes whatever hours he can get. Seems like the type who never has enough money, though he is enjoying himself lately--quite a few people are sick and he was able to rack in 40 hours in 2 weeks subbing for people! He does book reviews for the Olympian newspaper and on Sundays he nabs the paper from me before I can pull the ads from it. He doesn't get paid for them, but almost always has a review published.

Okay, enough rambling...blame the person who said I don't talk enough about real life here :P
