I hate this class so much. Every week we have a discussion assignment. Normally there is something quite interesting to talk about, but the teacher insists on rewriting ever discussion post and some of the regular assignments.
This week, the original discussion was to talk/review on a play we had seen or review something from our text book. Instead, the revised discussion is to talk about this one play, Trifles, and talk about what we would do for setting, who we want for characters, etc. Which is also part of our written assignment. Basically 2 pages of all that in more detail. The play is fucking boring!
At least now I have a bunch of other posts to read to give me inspiration for the written assignment. *Cries*

Spent 40 minutes feeling like an idiot while an online tutor tried to help me solve one problem. Still makes absolute 0 sense. I hate the thought of failing and having to retake this class.

Thursday, May 27th, 2010 11:37 pmOkay, I've mentioned before that I am taking college classes online. Normally the teachers are great and I've had a few that I loved so much I wrote a goodbye note to them on the last day of class.
But one of the ones I have this semester is annoying me. We have these discussion posts every week where we have to answer a question/talk about it, then post two responses to other students. The teacher sometimes asks questions to get people talking. But she has this habit of doing the triple question marks and random all cap words to add emphasis.
One of her e-mails to the class about discussion posts:
***As a reminder if I reply to your weekly discussion post YOU ARE EXPECTED TO REPLY BACK BEFORE SATURDAY NOON of the corresponding week!
(This is in addition to replying to another student's post. This DOES NOT REPLACE replying to another student's !!!) ***
And she was all annoyed that people weren't following instructions for the last assignment, which said to list references, when she really meant that they needed to be in APA format (every other class I have taken always specifies for them to be in that format). She was nice enough to let people redo things to get some points back, but I e-mailed to nicely point out the reason people probably got confused and she got all defensive. *headwall*

One of many important jobs as an Office Specialist is to manage, record, and cash both incoming and outgoing checks. Read the scenario below and begin to consider the adjustments you would make at Dr. Jameson's office:
Check Please!
You have just been hired on as an Office Specialist for Dr. Jameson. The old Office Specialist was let go because of a series of mishaps involving checks and other financial blunders. The check recording, cashing, and tracking process is almost non-existent. It seems as though checks just come and go without any real documentation process in place. Dr. Jameson is hoping that you can teach the other Office Specialists along with any other relevant staff, proper procedure for collecting, recording, and cashing checks.
What would you do? Where would you start? What is important? All these questions and more are now yours to answer.
In a 1-2 page paper, answer the questions posed in the scenario. Also, describe the steps you would take to ensure that proper check recording and cashing procedures are followed.
The last time I had a 'What would you do' assignment, I did a second person 2 page story (like the start of this one would be: 'You look around at the stacks of papers piled everywhere and sit down at your desk in dismay. People always say that your first day of work is normally rocky, but this is ridiculous!'
The teacher got a kick out of the last one I did, and I am looking forward to this one. I think I just miss writing. *le sigh*

College, Term 3

For every class, we have a discussion topic once a week, where we have to talk about something and then reply to one other student, at least, by the end of the week. There are a few people that I recognize from the past two terms. Kinda fun to run into familiar 'faces'.
One of my classes is keyboarding. Fun, yet frustrating! One of the assignments is to type something with no errors, and you have to keep typing it until you get it right. And you can't backspace!!! I love my backspace! And I always make tons of errors while typing. It's like I get up a rhythm, and if I can't keep going, my fingers touch whatever keys they freaking want to. After messing up 5 times, it asks if you want to go slower. Slower isn't the problem :(
Other classes are Medical Office Procedures and Intro to Sociology. :-/

Saturday, October 17th, 2009 02:00 amOMG I hate this program so much! I need it for college class. Found a trial download and hoping to just delete it and reinstall it for as long as I need it. But it f'ing replaced my plain Word program!! WTF? I hope I can get it back!
Does anyone have a registration key for Microsoft Office 2007? With NaNo around the corner, I am worried about being stranded with no word!
One of the last projects we had to turn in included screenshots of the folders I told you we learned step by step how to make *snore* And the teacher recognized Jared from my wallpaper lolz. Said she loved him in Gilmore Girls *dies laughing*

Grade for last week: 100% We had to write an e-mail to our boss and to our coworker, complaining about something another coworker did. I had the other coworker be a little crazy and insist the sky was black. This was my comment from the teacher:
Good work. I think you did a very nice job with this. Each email was clear and appropriate for the audience you were writing to. Especially as it relates to the email to your supervisor you were clear with your message, informative and left it open for them to act. That is also the most creative reason for a dispute I have read. : ) Seth

Okay. Time to do a bit of an update.
Last night I got bit or stung by a bee. I would have thought it would hurt more if I was actually stung. But uugh.
Got the SPN DVD from the Australia Con in the mail today :D So much better quality than the YT user clips.
Starting college classes online. Completed one week, and just starting on the next. The 3 classes I am taking this semester are Success Strategies, English Composition, and Medical Terminology (the terms are making my head hurt, but will make watching House more...educational? or something.
Short update, but whatev :)
