We now have a banner (well, two actually) stating how long we have until we get to move out of the freaking basement and start the shoft over to the new building. WOOT!
Thanks much to Julie for getting it all printed and fussing with the numbers.

I should have taken another to get a better picture of Jan's 'Get in the Swing' board, but Trish probably was already thinking I was crazy.

In other news, Jeff is heading to Seattle to visit some friends, and I am tagging along to visit with [livejournal.com profile] michelleann68 for the weekend :D And next weekend too, since Jeff is making another trip ^__^

I finally remembered to take a picture of Michelle's 'tie' wall...those stenciled ties she bought about a month ago.

Anyway, all home now. Was a bit nerve-wracking getting to the station. We were going to take a bus, but we were a few minutes too late. Had to go back up to Michelle's apartment to get the number to call a cab.
He was talking on the phone in a different language to one of his friends. He appologized like 5 times for talking (both on the phone and in a different language while he was doing so lol) and got off as soon as possible. He got me there in good time--2:05, 15 minutes before my train. The line to get my seat assigned wasn't long and moved fast.
It was funny...I was the first person on car 4. The next guy was sat next to me--he looked around at all the empty seats, at me, at his seat number, at me again, and I cracked up. Nice enough guy. Chatted a bit.
Turns out, the train was overbooked by lke 20 something people, so the extras were tossed in the lounge area. The 'voice over the speakers' announced Tacoma as 'The Land of DISCOVERY!!!' and it cracked us all up.
Those were the highlights of my trip home.

So boring around here...uugh lol

Another good day for stuff in Seattle. Went to a film earlier called In Search of a Midnight Kiss. It was an independent film, shot in black and white. About this guy who was trying to find love on Craigslist 24 hours before the new year. He finds a date and....well, telling what happens would give away the ending ;) But it was really good and had very nice and quick dialogue that really moved the plot along.

And, tonight, the whole reason for this visit--to see Jay Brannan's Fat is a Feeling concert tour. Eeeee!!!!!11 He was hilarious! And a lot of the people there (almost a full house) had definately heard of him and were hollering and clapping. He mentioned the Margaret Cho vid he put up a few days ago and the crowd went wild (while I squeed because I had been hoping he was going to sing the song. He 'claimed' he didn't remember all the words, but he sang the chorus and a bit of the start. Here is the version with him and Margaret Cho:
(WARNING!! Crude and very naughty)

I managed to sneak off a picture (hey, need to have something to post for my daily picture :D ) and I brought along the album I bought awhile ago to get it signed.

*flails*

Michelle had been wanting him to sing Your Body's a Temple and was sad after he sang his last song, but the audience was screaming so much that he came back for one more. After having that song title hollered at him (he thanked everyone for saying that), he sang it ^_^

He was adorable. While he sounds good on Youtube, he is way better in person. Uugh, I hope he comes back here so I can poke at Michelle to go with me again ;)

Seattle part 2

Uugh I had a wierd dream! Was hunting for my band teacher in a school I've seen but never gone to, and the school was all these mazes of steps and I was getting frustrated--like seeing glimpses of clothing, but when turned the corner, he not there. Then it started getting creepy and wierd and...I woke up to Michelle rustling in the kitchen...heard that noise in the dream lol.

Anywho...we lazed about, watched some of Psych (which I am becoming addicted to) before heading out to the It's About Life Expo. Lot of booths and stuff. Most interesting for me was a little book selection, but all the interesting ones I had already seen/read. Most interesting for Michelle were these stencil-on-wood art of how to tie a tie. She hesitated for all of 5 minutes before breaking down. There are 8 tiles, with various steps on them of how to knot it. While the artist was getting them ready, we wandered over to the stage area. Liz Clark was performing. She has a nice voice.
Pic is a little blurry:

After that, we were just in time to catch the 5:30 showing of Get Smart. It wasn't as good as I was hoping (a lot of the good scenes were shown in the trailers), but the end bits were hilarious. And it did have it's moments.

Went back to the apartment and watched more TV.

Then went to the ACT theater to catch Pinkaboo! The Closeted American Songbook with Phoenicia and Vic. I fell in love with Vic's voice. 'Nicia took a little bit of getting used to.
Picture with camera:

Then we watched Dr. Who.

And now bed...feeling all zombie-like

edit:
Forgot to mention...after Michelle put up the tie pictures, her cat, Lisa sat on the floor, glanced at them, then did a doubletake with wide eyes and just stared at them. For quite awhile. Then when we got home, she was sitting in a good position to have been staring at them while we were gone. *cackles* It was hilarious :D

My first full day in Seattle (this trip). Time to babble :D

Woke up at 5 something. It seemed much later. Went back to sleep. (fuun lol). Then officially got up around...10? I am so bad with remembering times and stuff. We kicked around for a few hours, then went to head to the Seattle Art Museum for the Impressionist exhibit. Art's not my thing, but I try :) There were some lovely paintings and I bought a bookmark. *note to self, get it from Michelle before I leave*

On the way to SAM, Michelle had me take this picture. Yes, I admit it was amusing ;)

Then we went down to the waterfront to view The Nina---a replica of Columbus' famous ship.
I has pictures )

Then we went back to Michelle's apartment and watched part of a movie, Full Frontal, and pretty much fast forwarded through the whole thing. Sooo boring. Kinda reminded me of Chelsea Walls as far as pace and character studies.
Then we put on Body Shots, which was much better, though that isn't saying much ;) Was decent enough to keep my attention for at least half of it. And it ended with just enough time to zip off for dinner to meet with a group of people.
I actually chatted a little during dinner *shock*

Then we all went (I think everyone from dinner?) to see Avenue Q. Michelle pretty much begged me to go. I'd heard the soundtrack, and that it had puppets, and that was pretty much all I knew about it.
I almost laughed myself sick! It was hilarious! I thought it would be a distraction to see the 'puppeteers' out there, but I had a blast watching them. We hung outside a bit and were able to snag a few actors to get them to sign the program...I felt bad that we kept having to use someone else's pen, since we didn't bring one of our own lolz.

Those were the highlights ^__^

Babble

Guess this is an 'Odds and Ends' post...a bit of everything. Maybe. We will see how far I get.

So, today. I normally like Mondays because it is my one day off where I don't go into town unless I want to and I like having a day to laze about. Mom ends up having me take pictures of the house and surrounding property (we need to list it to see how much money we can get *sigh*), then had me take more pics because a couple of the angles were wrong. So, 20 pictures later, done. It is a gorgeous day, so got some nice blue sky and a few little clouds in the background. Got the mail (2 books from paperbackswap :D :D) and then settled back in front of Pea. Then Mom wants me to water the front plants. Oi

I get settled back down and Mom is pacing around and decides to make cookies (aka, she does the dough and I cook them up). Dad calls and offers to bring us food, so I wait on doing the cookies until then. So about 3pm, I start in on the cookies and set up camp with Pea and a camera (trying to get pics of the canaries outside at the feeder.

I've been trying to write a bit on an old House story that has been slow going and getting interrupted every 12 minutes doesn't help. After those are all made (about 2 hours later) Mom calls me back from my escape to make her coffee. Then do the dishes. Then set the table. Then help her with hanging a plant up. Then nags me for being grumpy (nagging at me only make it worse).

Now it is almost 5 and the only things I have accomplished is one burned disk, one movie I downloaded, 4 pages of my book read, and 3 little paragraphs typed.

So what do I do next? LJ entry!

Done with the rant part. Now for some other stuff (because a rant does not a babble make--or something like that)

Don't think I have mentioned watching Brothers and Sisters, but I really love it. Kevin proposed to Scotty (and Mom gagged and groaned through the scene, which was a mood killer *sigh*), and I watched it again on YT *sob*

Watch the proposal here!! )

...I almost forgot how to do a cut. A sure sign I need to post more!

Also, during my last trip to Seattle, I went to see a play with Michelle. It was called White White Black Stork. Was the first one I have seen in another language and I kept forgetting to read what was on the screen at some points because I was too busy watching the action on the screen. It was reviewed as a Romeo and Juliet story, which wasn't really fair. Prob just because of the 'tragic love story' part of it. The first bit was hilarious and I was enjoying it, but when all the drama started happening, it started to drag and I just was waiting to see who would end up dying at the end.

First few minutes of this has some clips of the play )

What else...what else....
HOUSE TONIGHT!!!! YAY!!!

Okay, this is getting a bit long. Sorry for clogging the flist ^_^

Canada Trip Part 3

Yes, I am overdue with this for like...4 months lol
Figure I might as well get it up here before I go on about my last weekend trip to Seattle.

See if I can remember where I left off...
....
..
Okay, I this was our last day in Canada before heading back to the states. It was insane trying to find a place to eat, since most spots were closed and all our food tastes are way different. So mission (finally) accomplished, we headed to the Chinese Gardens.

Cut for pictures! )

Boring update

Well, might not be too boring...all depends I guess.

Wow...over 2 weeks since I have updated. Yes, I fail. Speaking of, gave up on NaNo yet again this year. Was stuck around 2200 words. Doubled from last year I guess. I got sidetracked by RPS writing, then a Cake fic (none of which have gotten finished yet). I was looking back over a few things in the past I have written, and I can't believe I wrote them. Not that they were bad, but that they actually seemed better than what I am doing now. Kinda depressing. I need to take nots from myself, methinks.

I haven't really jabbered about this, but I have been a huge fan of the play Bare: A Pop Opera for several years now...or more. Recently, an album was finally put out that includes the whole play--since like 90% of the thing was sung--and this even includes the dialogue bits and a bonus DVD. Not the original cast except for the gal who played Ivy. I got mine sent to me a few days ago and I can. Stop. Listening. To. It. Thrilled about that.

My last paycheck was like 4 times the amount that I normally make since I worked 40 hours one week and 38 the next to cover for a coworker who had a death in the family. Not sure if I liked doing 8-10 hour days, but the money was sure worth it. Schedule is all normal until December.
I work 5 hours every Sunday in winter, and also in December, the place I work is getting new carpeting, so it will be closed most of the month. I still have no idea if I will be working those Sundays there or not...I was told that we may be used to help clean up, etc. I hope so--50 odd bucks plus I am nosy and want to see what is going on ^.^

What else....
We now have a Walgreens next to Walmart. Went there first time today. Found out I can order digital prints online from them for cheaper than anyplace else. Also that they have life sized stuffed dogs for 10-20 bucks. Would take up a corner of my bedroom, but I still want one lol.

I picked up a few decorations for my room. Got a plastic bunch of Pointsetta flowers that I broke apart to...stick places. I have some green garland pieces left over from a few years ago that I drapped over the top of my bookselves. Strunh a few flowers in there and it looks pretty good. So cluttered around here that I can't do much else. Might buy a mini tree to something *shrugs*

I met with [livejournal.com profile] michelleann68 at McDonalds Thursday as she passed through to visit family for TGing. Had a nice chat and she had bought a present for Ki--a stocking filled with cat toys--to replace the ones lost in The Bug Incident*.

*The Bug Incident--Ki's box where we keep some catfood, random toys and other stuff we don't use any more--I had puleld out one of her burried toys to find these little bugs crawing all over it (naturally I squeaked and dropped it). After stalling for over a week--yes, I didn't want to go in there--I hauled the box outside and started digging. I had seen the same bugs when, at the other house, Mom used to leave Mindy (house dog)'s food lying in the ground. It attracted all these bugs, that looked like half-sized pill bugs, and we had to stop doing it.
I had no idea how long they had been in there. Pulled out several bags of food that hadn't been opened, and a couple toys and a brush that were on top.
Mom likes to buy these pouches of soft cat treats and she leaves them open because she has a hard time opening them. Didn't t ake long before I found a pouch filled with those bugs (I am cringing as I type). So I tossed all the open packages, then poked around until I could get to the bottom of the box. And ewww...there was like an inch of dead bugs in the bottom. I refused to try to save anything else (except a bouncy ball that looked semi-clean) and tossed the box in our field so Dad could burn it.
So. Now we have a smaller box, and I need to make sure Mom doesn't go overboard with buying treats faster than we feed Ki. I also got another small box for toys, since Ki now has more than she knows what to do with. She looked very confused when I dumped all the toys at her paws. Been playing with her a lot the past few days. As I walked over to Pea (laptop) a little bit ago, she was on my bed and reached out to snag my shirt, asking me to play lol.

That was more than I wanted to remember about The Bug Incident.

House--Loved last week's. First time in a long while that I enjoyed a POTW. Too bad he was unconscious for most of the last half. I am thinking that that is why House hasn't been as good lately--the POTW's are all boring and I don't care if they live or not.
But I was hoping that, for the one time that it was Lupis, that it would be more...dramatic?

...I think that is all....

Seattle Day 3+4

Okay, so I got a bit (a lot) sidetracked between my last entry and this one, hehe.

k. So....we are at Sunday I think.
We went to see the Gay Pride Parade that was pretty much right at the base of Michelle's apartment building. That was close to where it ended, so we wandered up the street aways. Despite it being so close, Michelle hadn't been before. I thought it was pretty good, though didn't really have anything to compare it to. Tons of floats, a rollerskating penis, big men in a bathtub....hehe
There was also this school bus that said something on it like safest drivers and the people in the bus were making it rock, so it was bouncing down the street. Kinda ironic, lol
Both of us were having problems with our cameras. I ran out of room on my digital card and the battery kept dying. If I turned it on and off, I could get off a few more pics. Between us we did pretty well.
clickie for pics )
kk, enough pics or I will be here all day.
If you want to see more, you can see both mine and Michelle's pictures combined here:
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v334/michelleann68/gay%20pride%202007/

After that, we wandered down to the waterfront to look at some sculptures there. I was more interested in the scenery:

Then we went back to the apartment.
Oh, somewhere between the parade and the waterfront, we got some little dog treats for Mindy (Mom's dog) ate pizza, and I got new batteries for the camera.

I can't really remember what we did that evening. Watched some TV and looked over the pictures and wrote and....guess that is all lol. Oh, and watched a 5 second blurb on the parade on the news. Which sucked and wasn't worth waiting 10 minutes for.

kk, Monday. I think I was leaving about 2 or so.
I had wanted to see Michelle's apartment balcony/outdoor area that is on the 4th floor. Has a lovely view of the Space Needle. I had been telling myself that I wasn't going to be all touristy and take any pictures of it on my trips to Seattle, but I just couldn't resist here--the wanna be photographer in me did a little squee:

Then we hung out a little more, went to a store, then was dropped off at the train station.
Then I went home. Damn it is boring around here. Or was, but I will leave that for a new update that I will type...some time.
