Had a panic attack for a few moments. When I went into my MASH folder to open up The Last Goodbye, there was a blank spot in the icon lineup right where it was supposed to be! I scrolled through the other hundred folders and couldn't find it! Then I sorted the folder by title (Which it was already sorted by in the first place) and it showed up 0.0 I think my computer just played an April Fools joke on me!!
Anyways, here yas go! I finally decided to be nice to ya all and post up part 6! Enjoy!
(from end of part 5:)
Peg peeked through the doorway and BJ met her gaze from across the room. It near broke her heart: BJ, with tears in his eyes as he held on for dear life to his best friend, trying his best to soothe him. She smiled softly at BJ, then backed away from the door and returned to her empty bed. She lay awake a long time and tried to imagine both of them before the war had stolen their lives in more ways that one.
PART 6
Morning
Hawkeye opened his eyes. ‘Oh no!’ He slowly moved off of his pillow: BJ. He was surprised that the man still slept, then winced at the thought of how stiff BJ would be when he woke up…not the most comfortable position to fall asleep in.
He noticed some clothes that BJ had brought for him the night before and he quickly changed out of the clothes that he had worn for the past several days. After he was dressed, he left the room as quietly as he could. The smell of bacon and eggs assaulted his nose as he neared the kitchen.
“Morning, Hawkeye,” Peg call out to him as he entered. “Hungry?” she asked.
Hawkeye ignored her question. “Can I use the phone? I think I will just call a cab and leave.”
“You want to leave? Why?” She stopped pushing the bacon around on the skillet and turned to face him, eyebrows raised.
“For last night.”
“Psh. Everyone had bad dreams.”
“I used your husband for a pillow.” It made perfect sense to him.
Peg shrugged. “So?” She sighed dramatically. “Stop worrying, will you? Now go wake him up. Breakfast is almost ready.”
Defeated, Hawkeye left to do her bidding.
*~..*..~*
BJ was right where he had left him, his head resting against the headboard. “Beej?” Hawkeye shook his shoulder gently.
He slowly opened his eyes and blinked them slowly to focus on his friend’s face. “Uh oh,” he groaned as he stiffly got to his feet.
Hawkeye offered him a half-smile. “Come on. Breakfast is almost ready.”
Peg was already putting breakfast on the table by the time the two men joined her.
“No Erin?” Hawkeye asked, noticing her absence.
“We feed her when she wakes up. No sense in shorting ourselves some nice quiet time,” Peg answered with a smile. She was returning a pan to the kitchen with the phone rang. She snagged a piece of bacon from her husband's plate on her way to answer it in the hallway.
They couldn’t hear her say anything, but they were able to hear the sound of the phone being slammed down less than a minute later. She returned to the table and sat, her expression unreadable.
“Peg? What’s wrong?”
“Tell you after breakfast.” She unfolded her napkin and placed it across her lap. Then she slowly began to eat, even though her appetite was gone.
BJ shared a worried glance with his friend.
Peg heard two forks clang against empty plates before she set her own down. “The call was from a Mr. Pierce,” she began, finally looking up at the men. BJ’s eyes were wide and Hawkeye didn’t look like he was feeling well. She took a breath and continued. “He told me everything.”

Oh, we sometimes have internet problems - for instance when the router deactives itself *nasty nasty thing* my dad is the only person in the house who knows how to fix it. It's supposed to be really simple but I don't dare to touch that thing.

Date: 2005-04-02 05:07 pm (UTC)I am always afraid of fiddling around with computer things that I don't understand in case I screw up something badly. Brother is the only other person who might be able to fix anything that I may break, but he is in Japan at the moment lol.
