IT'S SNOWING!!! YAY!

Went to see the Hobbit on Sunday. I wanted to turn around and see it a second time!

Martin is absolutely perfect as Bilbo.

I saw the 3D normal 24 frame rate version. The 3D was okay and very subtle in most parts. It looked awesome in the forest scenes and 'air/sky' scenes when the scenery was layered. But one thing that bugged me about it was that the background seemed extra out of focus and blurry in some spots. I am sure that in 2D the background wouldn't have been in focus anyway, but with the 3D it seemed like it shouldn't have been.

I seriously thought we were at about the 2 hour mark when the movie ended. It didn't feel long at all. I loved the backstory and history that padded the beginning. The last hour - wow. It moved so fast I was exhausted by the end. No wonder people thought the beginning was slow!

Going to need to dig out my LOTR DVDs and give them a rewatch now.
*Happy sigh*

I'm going to see it tomorrow - just the 2D version, I'm not keen on 3D - and I can't wait!
