Okay.
I put up with My Bloody Valentine for Jensen Ackles.
I put up with Friday the 13th and House of Wax for Jared Padalecki.
I actually enjoyed all three films, though I hate horror and House of Wax freaked me the Hell out.

Should I watch The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning for Matt Bomer? I've seen great reviews for it. And ones that rate it as the top 5 bloodiest horror movies ever.

I can manage MBV and F13 just fine...but how much worse is TCM:TB? I can buy it new for 3 bucks...

NO! No no no. I had to watch it for a class back in college and I wish so much that I could undo.

I am so glad you made this post. I meant to actually tell you this just out of the blue, in case, but I forgot.

Do not watch this movie. First, Lee Tergesen's is the only decent character in it, everyone else is either a murderer or terribly annoying. Second, and most importantly, it is so pointlessly, terribly gory. And this is coming from someone who generally claims to like horror films. It takes a typical slasher film level of violence and ratchets it up by a factor of twenty. Jared's and Jensen's recent films do not even come close. It was all just too much. I had two examples here of just how too-much it is, but honestly, if I can dissuade you from watching without, I'd rather not put those images in your head to start with.

If you need more Bomer, youtube his Guiding Light days or something. But don't watch this movie. His character has the worst, most awful of all the deaths, probably. It's the one I wish I could erase from my mind.

Uugh, what was the college class on?

Glad I didn't impulse-buy, like I do a lot lol. Guess I will pass, unless I feel like torturing myself or it falls (literally) into my lap.

Our of curiosity, how much of the movie does he last for?

Thanks much for the review :D

Religion & Film that semester focused on horror films. It was fascinating and I am so glad I took the course, but that particular movie was really rough on me. (The Hills Have Eyes upset me a bit, too. It had Will from Traveler in it.)

He lasts a while before he actually dies, but he's one of the first victims. He's tortured for a while in between. It's all pretty awful.

I've seen neither of those, so I don't know how to compare TCM:TB to them but yeah, it is pretty darn bloody. I personally laughed/MTS3Ked my way through it, but if you're someone who gets fazed by violence then it's not one I would recommend. I may have laughed at it because the racheted up violence just made it seem so unreal that it wasn't very frightening. Hope that review(ish thing) helps :-\

*stares at naked guitar dude* What were you saying?

Hehe.
I enjoy the creepier side of horror, rather than the bloody side.
