Okay. So I got the modem. Hooked it up and put in the disk. Took an hour and a half to run it and get connected with a cable to the internet. Then I gave up and watched a few hours of TV. Went to run the next step, which involved moving the cable to a router...and got no response, so started back over with the disk. This time, it only took 5 minutes to run through everything, another 5 after that and I was wireless again.
All was peachy for an hour when it mysteriously died again. Cue me swearing at the thing for 2 hours, running the disk multiple times, restarting a lot. It kept saying I was connected and all, but that there was no signal being picked up.
After restarting for the hundredth time, I seem to be wireless again. For some reason.
It was 8:30 when I started trying to get online. It is now 5am and I am ready to crash...afraid to shut down any thing for fear it won't work when I get back to it.
I managed to get 2 little assignments for college done at work and another just now. That takes care of the easy ones that were due tomorrow...er, later today. 3 more little ones due Saturday and quizzes in each due Sunday. uugh!
