Well, I wore an appropriate shirt today/yesterday:
Good Morning is an Oxymoron.
First, I set alarm clock to wake me at 10. I turned it off and slept until 11:30 (oopsie).
Then at work, I was upstairs no more than 10 minutes when I got word that Mom had fallen outside. She was bringing my G'ma to the library to get some books, and slipped on the pavement. Smacked the back of her head and screwed up her back pretty nasty. I went out there for a few minutes to talk to her, then went inside and sat on the floor next to G'ma's chair to get her to calm down some. She was pretty upset by the whole thing. I managed to get her to wander around to get some library books.
Went back outside to see what was going on and, joy, there was an ambulance there. Corine (my boss) had called one in to give Mom a check over and make sure everything was fine. She (Corine) said she had to practically sit on Mom to keep her from getting out of the car, trying to stall her while the ambulance was en route. (Love her protective Jewish-mother side, hee)
So Mom was checked out, and signed a waver that meant no 'fun' ambulance ride for her.
Dad showed up a little afterwards and we both offered to take G'ma home and drive Mom home, etc. But she insisted (stubborness runs in the family...she is always complaining about G'ma being stubborn) on taking G'ma to get groceries.
And I went back to work. Seemed like the most excitement that had happened lately. Got asked about things from all 4 coworkers at seperate times. Corine kept telling me not to worry and such, but I felt strangely calm. Almost too laid back, and that is a little worrying.
After work, had the ususal lunch, then went home. Was relieved that Mom had made it back home in one piece...or at least any many pieces as she had left the library in. When she pulled out of the library lot, I was standing with Dad and we both saw she almost hit a car. I asked him if he wanted to shadow her. I think he was tempted.
When got home, Dad was hosing out the gutters. On a ladder. I hollered to him that he had better not fall off or I shall hurt him. Mom was napping. She can barely move. Says she has a bruise pretty much from shoulders to butt. Going to be real worse in the morning after laying down all night.
So, yeah. That was my day. I really shouldn't type out entries when I am feeling rather sarcastic. Tense situations seem to bring out the joker in me.
