evila_elfI was watching Flight of the Phoenix with parents earlier and, I can't remember what scene we were at, but the wind picked up and made this real loud noise outside. Very creepy and well-timed as far as the film went. I can still hear it outside whistling away, making the house creak. Sounds like the startings of our own tornado 0.o
Okay, to make this post have more of a meaning
The Last Goodbye
PART 5
BJ felt exhausted as he lay next to Peg. What a long day! They were only asleep for moments before a terror-filled yell woke them. He sat bolt upright, Peg following suit. He heard Erin stirring in the next room as the sound woke her. “You take care of Erin. I’ll get the big boy.” He untangled himself from the sheets and rushed to Hawkeye’s room.
Hawkeye was sitting up, his head buried in his hands. His shoulders shook and his mouth was open, gulping much needed air into his lungs. BJ sat next to him and Hawkeye instinctively leaned against him. “Beej?”
“Shhh. I’m here.”
“BJ…You had died…I dreamed…So real.” He sniffed and tried to compose himself. “I’m sorry. This is the last place I should be.”
BJ’s arms tightened around his friend, afraid he may try to run.
“I shouldn’t be anywhere. Just surplus from the war, on call for the next one…” His voice sounded far away.
Peg peeked through the doorway and BJ met her gaze from across the room. It near broke her heart: BJ, with tears in his eyes as he held on for dear life to his best friend, trying his best to soothe him. She smiled softly at BJ, then backed away from the door and returned to her empty bed. She lay awake a long time and tried to imagine both of them before the war had stolen their lives in more ways that one.
