The touchpad seems really tenacious on mine, too. Most of the time I use a wireless Logitech mouse -- it's small and does not need a mouse pad -- and it's much less frustrating.
The Windows 7 Media Player regularly drives me to cursing because it keeps defaulting to that float-y display for people who do not read. I haven't yet figured out a way to make it look like the older version. :)
