Ummm..I think he was in the backseat of a cab, but not all day lol. There is this girl/woman that got kidnapped and she hotwires a broken phone. She manages to send a signal to this guy's cell phone, and he ends up trying to help her for most of the movie. Bleh, I suck with summaries, but hopefully that is enough to know if it is the one you are thinking of :)
