Tuesday, November 1st, 2005 02:19 amDespite several high points, today has been a relatively shitty day...
I've been having a headache on and off all day...mainly a throbbing pressure against the back of my head. I want to go to bed, but it isnt even 2am yet.
I should probably polish up a few fics that I have been meaning to get up, but I just don't feel like doing anything. I would rather sit and stare blankly at the computer screen than move or do anything requiring some form of intelligent thought. mmmmmm...closing my eyes feels good, but the fact that I think I could fall asleep if I do that is strange...
At least my elbow isn't hurting as much as it was yesterday.
Today was a bit different, so I shall babble a bit....

went into town extra early to cash my paycheck. Would have done it Saturday, but the check was dated the 31st. Since my library doesn't work on Mondays, we get paid Fridays if the end of the pay period falls on Sat, Sun, or Mon. I wanted to wait until Tuesday to cash it, but I had to pay back the 40 bucks I borrowed during All Staff Day to Donna....
Because I went over to Donna's at 1:30 to help her and Mom make popcorn balls for the trick or treaters. Mom kept saying that I was to much of a wimp to pack the scorching hot popcorn and caramel into round balls. I am happy to say that I didn't say a word while she 'ouched' all over the place. The balls *snicker* were quite nummy. Made 4 batches with roughly 10 balls in each. I was only there for 3 of the batches because....
I had sign class at 3:30. Since Mom made me drive myself to Donna's I just hopped over a few streets to the house we were at that month. With the combination of a few pieces of toast for lunch and some caramel popcorn afterwards--coupled with a headache everytime Mom ordered me to do something--my hands were extra twitchy. Happy they calmed down..
Class was okay. We reviewed lessons 5-6 and watched part of Billy Seago's ASL series Lesson 1 that I got from the library. They are corny, but full of wonderful information. After that, we got a nice little on-going assignment: By next Monday, we have to pick out a song that we are going to learn how to sign to the class. Going to have about a month to learn and practice it. I was going to do Truly, Madly, Deeply by Savage Garden. I have already taught myself the chorus plus I love that song. While going to 'legally obtain' it, I decided to snatch another song that I had heard several times on the Country station: Sarah Beth by Rascal Flatts. Okay...new favorite song and I think I will use that for my sign song. So sad! I suggest you all try to give it a listen! Most of the words in it are ones I already can translate to sign and the flow is nice.
What is going to suck about this assignment is that everyone in the class, except me, is a Jahovah's Witness...so most of the songs they choose will be from the song book thingy. I am scared to see what this one lady will choose...she is incredibly emotional and brings meaningful poems to class even though they have nothing to do with sign...they make her sniffle, remind her of a deceased pet, etc. At least I am not the only one politely trying to ignore her. Next Monday we have to bring a musical copy of the song we chose.
Oh, just FYI since I don't talk about the sign class much...There are about 10 of us in the class and it is free, one of the J'sW is donating her time to try to teach us in the hopes that there will be more Witnesses able to sign at the meetings. Since my Mom is one I was going with her. She got bored and dropped out...though she says she will come once a month. I kinda like it better without her :-/ /end rant
When I got home (almost drove off the road due to someone with their damned bright lights on!!!!), I had a nice little package on my bed!! The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie!! Damn that seller I bought from was fast!! I want to read some of it...but I just want to curl up and go to sleep.
What else about today...
