Got a chance to watch the rest of movie Jenny :)
Alan's character, Delano, is a filmmaker. His girlfriend tells him that this guy she knew was able to avoid being drafted because his wife just had a child (something like that). Delano remembers Jenny (Marlo Thomas), a nice girl he met the other day who is pregnant. He visits her several times, gets to know her some, etc., then tells her of his situation. She agrees to marry him...
...Marriage ain't all it's cracked up to be! Man, Delano is a conceited jerk! He even has several dope parties at his and Jenny's place! Complaining...She loves him, but he is still in love with his girlfriend. They had agreed to continue seeing and hanging out with their own friends...he even points this out to her, and she yells back that he was her only friend.
In the middle of this 'party' Jenny leaves and doesn't come back until 5am. During that time, Delano finally realizes how much he cares about her..and the relationship improves...some. He complements her on her cooking several times while she tries to discuss baby names *sighs* Then, all of a sudden, boom, they are finally both in love, sleeping in the same bed, romantic walks, etc.
Movie was a tad disappointing (mainly cause I hate the character of Delano). Such a Jerk (capitol J)! The movie was worth it, however, to see his smile when he got to see the baby (sex unknown 0.o) for the first time craddled in Jenny's arms. He stared at it as he kneeled next to the hospital bed, head on his arms, he gave a small smile and reached out to gently touch the baby's very small finger. He moved his hand back and continued staring at it.
Oh, there is this one scene where Delano says he may move away (cold feet??) when it is getting close to her baby-due time. Then it cuts to Jenny on a stretcher when she is in labor. She is having this image (wierd imagination) of her, a baby in her arms..a man comes up to her and tries to take the baby from her, and Delano just stands back filming the whole thing! Fade out of her on stretcher. When the camera comes back into focus, Delano is waiting for her beside the bed...awwww...
Movie coulda been a whole lot better. Seemed kinda rushed, lotta aspects left unexplored. Focus was really how bad a husband Delano was turning out to be...except for the first 15 min and the last 20 min....Wonderful acting by Marlo Thomas (Film debut) and okay acting by Alda (sure did a great job of making me hate the character :P)
I think there was something else I wanted to say, maybe about the movie, maybe not, but it is 2am and I need to get to bed. Mom has been threatening me that she will take away my internet access if I stay up pass 2..and my creaky bed always gives away what time I get in it!! *panics*
