eeeee!!! Let me warn you, I doubt this post will make much sense.
It was definately as good as I was hoping for!
Brokeback truely is a pretty place, the scenery is gorgeous!
Backtracking a bit. I'd had Brokeback on my netflix list for over 3 months. When a release date was picked for it, I moved it to the top of my list. AND I actually had it delivered to me on Tuesday with a little bit of good timing!! Mail came just 10 minutes before I left for work, so I snagged it. Mom had only opened my Netflix mail once before, but I didn't want to take no chances. I watched half last night and finished it up with the extras tonight.
I had bought the talking book before and gave that a listen several months ago, so I already knew what happened with Jack, so that didn't effect me emotionally as much as it probably would have otherwise. What did get me, however, was the very end, when Ennis was at the parents place and the mother was all teary and trying extra hard to be nice (husband was a real dick*cough*), and Ennis found the jacket and shirt and left with it rolled into a little doggy bag (well, that is what it reminded me of), and when he had it hanging up in the closet with a picture of Brokeback next to it and....run on sentences be damned!
Oh, and Jack's mustache...I wanted to rip it off. Probably a little rage left over from BJ's mustache in MASH ;) Same for Ennis' sideburns!
For some reason, I was amused by Jack dragging that poor sheep.
Almost as much sex scenes between the wives (umm...make that between the men and their wives) as there was between the guys.
Love seeing Ennis slowly start to talk more and loosen up a bit during their first time up at BBM. And that wresting scene on the hill was HOTT!
So yea..
Made more sense than I thought I would.
Any easter eggs on the DVDS? I need to send it back tomorrow.
I want to buy the movie, but I have no idea when I would be able to watch it again.

that last scene of BBM made me so sad... that postcard... *sigh*
