Sherlock 3.3 His Last Vow Review
Typed while I was watching it a second time:
Love how John is all grrr and seeking out trouble. And the bonus of finding Sherlock in the building. Hee! And everyone fitting in that car. Great chaos :D
The confrontation with Mycroft. I think I am officially a shipper now. *mock-glares at one person in particular*
Surprised to see Janine still around, after the last ep. And at how comfortable Sherlock was with using her.
The twist of having Mary as the baddie. I knew there was going to be some twist, but that was totally unexpected. And that she shot him! Ack!
Aww. Red Beard. “They’re putting me down, too.” *sniff*
I love that he has Moriarty chained up in his mind palace. Not the best way to keep calm after using Red Beard to calm down. But Moriarty said the magic words: “John’s in trouble.”
I can’t focus on words. Shirtless Sherlock mmm.
When Mrs Hudson said Sherlock could be hiding behind the clock face of Big Ben…was that a Great Mouse Detective Reference? I’m just going to assume it is because that is awesome lol.
I remember people questioning about Mary knowing skip-code and I was surprised that she remembered the number of the room. Glad to see them referenced.
I really thought Sherlock and Mary would keep things from John. So another twist that Sherlock let him find out about her.
Christmas and the parents! And Billy is still around :D
Exotic dancing vids of Mrs Hudson on Youtube!
I like how Mary has been downgraded to client, and that he is slowly starting to talk to her again. The time jump was a bit sudden. Jump to a few months in the future, then jump back to when she was a client. Then Sherlock goes back to the hospital…and we are back to Christmas time. Awww, the hug.
More like John has horrible luck when picking friends and partners, not that he is actively seeking dangerous ones.
Dragon slayer *snort* And them getting caught smoking. Ha. Aww, Mycroft doesn’t want anything to happen to Sherlock.
Now I think we went back in time to when Sherlock was in the hospital.
Mmmm, glasses.
And here is where the ep started to fall to pieces. Sherlock takes Mycroft’s laptop in order to use the tracking to alert everyone to Magnussen. Who is supposedly very dangerous. Yet he is a supercomputer who never forgets anything and can scare people into giving them what he wants. Because he has knowledge on them. Knowledge can be dangerous, but…it’s not, in this case.
Just the admission that he wasn’t going to let John burn in the fire is disappointing.
Front of T-Shirt:
“I don’t understand.”
Back of T-Shirt:
“I still don’t understand.”
I really thought he was going to lick John, not just flick at him. Which was…just as odd as licking him would have been. And there he goes saying how dangerous he is. Not PROVING it.
Sherlock really should have shot him BEFORE the cavalry arrived.
And what was so wrong about Sherlock shooting him? I see no backlash for his actions that would need him to leave the country or imprisoned.
I do like that they don’t really know what to say to each other.
Oh, the 6 month assignment that will most likely end in Sherlock’s death. Missed that bit the first time. Adds a bit more emotion to the end scene.
MORIARTY! I LOVE it! I was actually a bit disappointed in the first ep that it didn’t appear that he was alive. He is much more of a scary dangerous character than Magnussen.
And to those of you with the download that included the odd clip of The Musketeers after the credits, it looks like it was really supposed to be this scene:

Makes soooo much more sense now :)
So. The wedding ep remains my favorite of the whole series. I’m not really sure where this ep places. The beginning was great, but the ending was so disappointing :-/
