New York Day 4 and Home
We had nothing planned for the last day aside from working our way to the airport. When we woke up, it was completely foggy outside. Here's a view of the window from the bed:
The fog started to lift a bit more after we finished packing and gathering our stuff (we had a noon checkout), so here are some more pics from the window:
And here are some random pictures from previous days that didn't make it into my posts:
These were huge!
The building was wrapped like a package!
Santa!
Had a good view of this poster while waiting in line for tickets:
Also, I can't remember which day these happened on, so tacking them on here. We went to the NBC store where they had tons of items for sale from TV shows. I was surprised at how many House items there were. Had no idea that show was still popular lol. I bought a 'I'm a Psych-o' magnet, even though I am losing interest in Psych.
We also went to the M&M store. 3 floors of insanity. Need I say more?
Moving on...
We were going to take a train to the airport. We left the hotel super early, so we had time to kill. I wandered around a bit, as there were tons of shops! And I got lost for a bit had had to call Michelle. Turns out, it isn't a good idea to use a store as a landmark when there are like 5 of them in the area!
At the airport...our flight was over 2 hours late. I had the newest Patterson book, so I didn't mind settling in to read. It was always entertaining to look around at all the unsmiling people.
(and OMG adorable guy was sitting close to us. I wanted to get a pic of him when he went over to stand by the window, but Michelle said that would be creepy. Sadly, I listened to her.)
Finally on the plane. There was no Direct TV and no Turkey(?) sandwiches, two things Michelle was looking forward to the most for the flight home.
Flight was a blur of boredom. I read, dozed, grumbled about the person in first class that I could hear coughing up a lung (I was just a few seats away from 1st class). And, sure enough, by the end of the night, my throat felt funny.
Michelle had to check her bag, so we had to wait forever for the luggage to make it out, as two planes had landed at the same time.
Cab to Seattle.
I think we watched part of something before going to bed.
So that was Monday.
Tuesday...I barely remember. We went to Whole Foods and I went to get cupcakes to bring home, which is now a Seattle tradition.
I know I played with the cats. Or cat, I should say. Mils isn't really the type you 'play' with unless you want to lose an arm. Lisa, however, was super playful.
Went back home to my boring little town on Wednesday.
My cold continued to get worse. Now it is Tuesday and I had to take today and tomorrow off work (I don't think they want me to share my germs). The cough is getting better and should be mostly gone by Thursday, which is my goal to get back to work. Feels like I have been gone forever!
