First Sunday of the year
Well, today was my first Sunday at Centralia library for the fall. Okay, that sentence hurts my eyes lol. October-May I work Sundays.
So, today I show up and Lou greets me at the door with a flashlight. Not a good sign. So I am told the power is out (It has been mighty windy). It was about 12:20, and power was out at 12. Library opens at 1.
I got the books out of the bookdrop while calls were made to check on the power situation. So there were 4 of us total--one sitting behind desk, one on counter, one on nice stuffed chair, and me on the floor in the middle of it all. So we chatted for a bit and counted down every 5 minutes the time. We were told that if power not back by opening time, we could go home. So we had signs made and ready.
As it got closer to 1, I went outside to let people know that we probably wouldn't be opening.
Dad had taken me to work, and I couldn't get ahold of him, or Mom, So Margaret was kind enough to go out of her way and drive me home. Had a nice chat on the way.
Sure surprised Mom and Dad when they got home and I was there.
I was a little lost of what to do with myself...I was all in work work work mode. So went with Mom into Wallyworld. Fun shopping with her because I can get things out of it...some jeans and a case to put all my disks in...but she takes so freaking long to shop. Bored out of my skull.
Tomorrow, I have to get up at 6:30 (ack) and need to be at the library by 8. We are leaving for All Staff Day. It is going to be in Lacey this year--about an hour drive away, and we are carpooling. It will be fun, but a long day. Need to bring money in case I find stuff I can't live without, since there are auctions and things.
Will update on that tomorrow.
