Episode Ramblings :D
Anyone remember me? I'm back to being a crappy updater again.
Time for House episode ramblings :D
Firstly, just want to say that, after the big flip out over seeing House running and stuff when it was shown on the previews, you would think that people would have gotten use to the fact that the writers are flubbing. Now it seems people are all whinning again! BTW, was it ever said what muscle was removed? Yes, I am still trying to find some way that the writers weren't at fault lol.
I got quite a kick out of this episode. I don't care that the snark was tuned down a bit. House was acting like a nutter, and I quite enjoyed it!
Wilson got a tad annoying with his analyzing of House, but now I have this vision that he had done it a lot to House. We've seen him do that a lot on the show. Maybe he has always done so, as a little game. House sure seems to take it well, waiting for Wilson's steam to run out.
And boy, Wilson was in the ep a lot! :D
And I love Chase (nothing really new there, just felt like pointing it out again).
Were the ducklings camped outside House's office? (where Cam was on the floor). I can only imagine the reason they were kicked from their office *snigger*
I think Wilson will be losing some weight keeping up with House.
Is it wrong of me to be incredibly happy at the leg pain? Was he really just pushing himself too far like Wilson suggested? I do want the pain to come back, even if just for the angst and my love of torturing characters.
I don't think that House wanted to get the vicodin because of the leg pain. I think we would have gotten more than a little twinge scene if there was. I think that what Cuddy had been saying in the scene before he went to Wilson--about how he could provide a list of medical facts and blah blah--struck home. Maybe his mind was sharper with the Vicodin. But if he takes it now, with no leg pain to deaden the effects...oi.
RandoM things:
Love House tossing grapes at the janitor! He is still a bastard, but now he is a fast bastard, hehe :)
I have been staying relatively spoiler free, though I did catch a few panicked things here and there about House/Cam. After the little 'scene' in the hallway... Me: That was it?? Totally nothing to worry about so far with those two.
And yeah, House totally should have been checking out Cuddy's chest as she opened the window.
I had seen it before, but I still love the House-tossing-ball-against-Chase's-head.
Wilson: "I'm not going away" *squeee*
Cuddy's mention of 24 times a year I found funny.
And speaking of numbers...I think the writers like the number 8.
--8 miles to the hospital
--8 years patient had been a vegetable
--8 weeks House was 'recovering'
--House had been referred to as being 8
Bloodstain!! I was hoping there would be one there! I hope it stays forever....House seems to like it ;)
Had been talking with
michelleann68, and she thinks that it would be so like Cameron to put something frilly there to cover it up. Or a potted plant for Chase to trip over.
And the preview!! Ah, lovely memories of The X-Files (before it sucked). And the unidentifyable metal line to Chase *cracks up*

In Three Stories. It was the middle ground between chopping his leg off and leaving him to die. As Cuddy said, 'go in and remove the muscle'.

I hadn't noticed the 8 thing. Hmmm...

Uhhhhh YES? That's what they did when he had the surgery on his leg. They removed the necrotic muscle.
ALSO:
IT KIND OF LOOKS LIKE THERE'S A HUGE CHUNK OF HIS LEG MISSING OH MY GOD WHERE DID IT GO
Maybe his mind was sharper with the Vicodin
WHAT
I mean
Yes, I think my mind is at it's ~sharpest~ after I've had my daiily heroin. Opiates just make the brain in tune with *^LIFE^*

yeah, love Chase, too! that "how many milimeters?" bit cracked me up. And we certainly can't complain about the lack of Wilson in this epi... Wilson had always done some House-analysis in each epi (the rooftop scene--being miserable doesn't make you better than anyone else--comes to mind). I kinda like it. House analyzes everyone else, it's only fair that he gets analyzed by Wils :)
oh god, I cringe everytime House hints that the leg pain is back. when he flipped the light on and off in wilson's office, I had a sinking feeling in my stomach. and when he said that the pain was bad enough to tell wilson, I wanted to cry. Really don't want to see him go back... I would really miss watching him run (and get all sweaty and sexy)and show off his cool skate moves in front of wilson.

Also, if the big problem with his leg is that it really hurts that much, then Wilson's cane-snapping prank was really awful. (But I'm irritated with Wilson these days anyway.)
About House's motives for asking Wilson for Vicodin... I don't think it had anything to do with wanting to be sharper. Cuddy didn't imply that he was being less intelligent than he usually, just that he was being more desperate. Wilson's theory was that House couldn't handle just being normal and healthy but without opiates and so felt he either needed to get the high of solving a puzzle, or needed his Vicodin. I think that that is probably partly true, though I think House was also honestly really afraid of the pain coming back.
But back to my point about the leg.
My rationalization for House being able to run and jump and skateboard is that the writers simply needed some kind of visual for House being pain-free. Just telling you that now he feels great isn't effective enough, doesn't provide a dramatic enough contrast, so they need to show him in action. Just like how whenever House is really thinking hard, they show him doing something phsyically, throwing his ball around, twirling his cane, etc. Because you can't really show thinking, just like you can't show being pain-free.
So I'm going to just pretend that his leg's mobility really had beem compromised (and not just from pain) all along and that that's how it will work again when the pain comes back, and that that's how it should work in good fanfiction.
